Twisted Tom and many others in the big Saratoga race

The Saratoga Race this Friday will see over a 100 New York breeds participating. This New York Show case day race will include six stakes worth $1.15 million. Leading the field for the $250,000 Albany is Twisted Tom. The horse won the New York Derby at Finger Lakes last month. The $200,000 Fleet Indian will start off the race events of the today. The race will be started by Sunset Ridge, who will be looking to continue its undefeated run. Bonita Bianca, a three-time winner, will also be looking to make her presence felt along with the trainer Rudy Rodriguez. Danielle’s Pride and Five Each Way will make their stakes debut in the race. The $200,000 Funny Cide race will see What a Catch trying to win his second stake race. The horse will be challenged by other two favorites, Morning Breeze and Analyze the Odds. The race day will also feature other exciting and huge money stakes.

Centenary Sprint Cup attains Group 1 status

The Hong Kong Centenary Sprint Cup has achieved a Group 1 status before the 2017-18 season. This will be a good boost for the competitors as well with the prize money now being HK $10 million. This 1200 m race also marks Hong Kong’s 12th Group 1 race. Earlier the Centenary Cup was in the Grade 2 at the international level and as domestic Group 1 in Hong Kong. Many of Hong Kong’s finest has won this spectacular cup, including, Silent Witness, Eagle Regiment, Grand Delight and the most recent in 2017, Peniaphobia. This will also be the third time when this race is run for 1200 meters rather than 1000 meters.

Top horses face off in Personal Ensign

This coming Saturday will surely see a spectacular race with a star studded group of horses. This Grade 1 $700,000 race will see the horses go for the win in the 1 1/8 miles race track. The main focus will surely be on multiple time champion Songbird and multiple Grade 1 titleholder Forever Unbridled. The Jerry Hollendorfer trained Songbird, and Charles Fipke’s Forever Unbridled had a face off last fall at the Grade 1 Breeder’s Cup. This will surely be an interesting race although Unbridled and Songbird are being touted favorites, anything can happen.

Snow Fair Stakes headed by Rain Goddess

Rain Goddess leads the Snow Fairy Stakes, a Group 3 race at the Curragh. Three Group 3 races will be hosted at the Curragh this week. With British fillies like Izzy Bizu, Lake Volta, and Fleet Review, the race has certainly gone up by a few notches. Rain Goddess is a former runner up of the Darley Irish Oaks and has been named as a favourite.
